The CSLB has issued a scam alert, particularly related to solar installation.

Door-to-door scams are on the rise. Do not just give money to someone who knocks on your door. Unfortunately, in this day and age, you have to do your due diligence and make sure people are who they say they are with the skills they say they have.

There has been a rise lately of people knocking on doors, convincing the resident they can get solar for cheap and fast and then take the money and disappear or do sub-standard work and disappear. Always remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it is.

Fortunately, the CSLB has made it easy to check up on a license. If someone knocks on the door and it seems legit, get their license number, get their business card and research the company. Don’t fall for high-pressure tactics.

Start by using the link below to check the license number with the CSLB. If they don’t have a legitimate license, DO NOT work with them. If the license number checks out, look into the company. Make sure that they are insured. Find online reviews and see what others have said about them. It has never been easier to do your due diligence.
